About of us tin agree that nosotros would not go dorsum to existence a younger version of ourselves -- fifty-fifty if we could -- because nosotros'd never want to give up the wisdom, knowledge, and life experience we now possess. Simply do y'all accept fleeting moments where y'all really miss being young and naive? I'm not talking about getting drunkard and making dumb decisions, only feeling as if a world of possibilities lay ahead. As I've noted in other posts, sometimes I look back on my higher years this style. I all the same lived in my mom'due south house, had trivial money, and wasn't sure where I was headed career-wise. Yet, I was happy. Higher sheltered me from the corporate grind for a couple of years. (Mind y'all, I worked function-time while in college, just it wasn't the same.) I loved studying for tests, writing papers, and acing classes. To me, college was my real "job." Spoken like someone still being supported past his parents, I know. Not but was I naive near the working globe, merely near relationships besides. In my sophomore year, I hooked up with my now-wife, and the first 2 or 3 years were, for the most office, spent in that so-chosen honeymoon stage where each person's flaws remain subconscious. Life was more than about experiencing things -- often for the commencement fourth dimension -- than almost making money. A engagement/pic dark with my wife was a huge thing. Now it's something we do with our optics airtight. Again, I wouldn't get back to this time in my life if I could. A person needs to grow up and confront the world. And I'k affectionate all the freedoms that come with adulthood (money, having your own place, travel, etc.). Things may non be every bit "exciting" per se, merely I'1000 much more than stable, mature, and knowledgeable than I was every bit a 20-year-old. When I encounter kids in college now, I always feel the urge to tell them to brand the most of those four years, because life changes drastically thereafter. Ignorance really is bliss. Has anyone ever felt like this? Last edited by Wordsmith12; 05-31-2018 at 08:34 AM..

I miss being young but not naïve. I would love to be 25 again with the knowledge I have gained over the final 38 years.

I don't miss my youth. I was a delicate runt that bleed easily. I don't miss being naive. Putting my organized religion in something that never delivered burned me more times than my careless mother with a flat fe. I don't long for the days of ignorant bliss, because in hindsight I was heading downwardly a path of self-destruction. I value the knowledge, wisdom, and calluses I accumulated. I don't e'er want to go back to how I was when I was 5, ten, or twenty.

I however feel like at that place's a world of possibilities ahead. In that location are always possibilities ahead; with a little luck, imagination and effort, you tin ever create new possibilities for yourself, new projects, envision and comport out new dreams. You can reinvent yourself professionally, make career changes, accept off in new directions at whatever age.
